Water Source Heating

When in heating mode, the SmartSource WSHP utilizes two separate Heat Exchangers (HE) within the refrigerant circuit to heat incoming air before moving it into the space.

Heat from the conditioned water in the central water loop is absorbed by the refrigerant through the first HE, turning it into a low pressure/low temperature vapor. It's then moved to the compressor to become a high pressure/high temperature vapor.

The refrigerant enters the second HE where its heat is rejected and transferred to the cool incoming air. The refrigerant is changed to a high pressure/high temperature liquid during this process. A metering device then changed the refrigerant back to a low pressure/low temperature liquid, once again ready to absorb heat from the central water line.
